Moorfoot Julia Connor was yesterday named first female in the Dumfries and Galloway hill
running championship. This championship, now reinstated after a gap of
ten years, is based on the 5 hill races in the region: Criffel, Screel, Durisdeer, the Devil's Beeftub and Merrick. Trophies were awarded after the Merrick Race prizegiving.
